Copy that says something, not everything.

$ what we ship

Six shapes of writing work.

Website relaunch copy through to a monthly editorial retainer. We shape the scope to whatever stage you're at — homepage that feels flat, blog that hasn't moved in a year, or "we need a real content engine, not a freelancer".

01
Website copy overhaulHomepage, product pages, service pages, about, pricing, FAQ — the whole site, in your voice, indexed for search.
02
Blog & editorialLong-form posts, thought-leadership, engineering write-ups. Interview-based, edited hard, SEO briefed without keyword stuffing.
03
Case studiesReal interviews with real customers — problem, approach, results with actual numbers. Written to close deals, not to decorate.
04
Video & podcast scriptsYouTube explainers, product demos, founder-led videos, podcast intros. Written for the ear, not the eye.
05
Email sequencesWelcome flows, nurture, cart-abandon, re-engagement. Behavior-triggered, hand-written, tested against subject-line variants.
06
Editorial retainerMonthly content programme — 4–12 pieces, briefed, drafted, edited, illustrated, published. Runs like a real editorial team.
$ our process

From research to publish — six phases, every piece.

Every piece we publish runs the same six phases, in the same order. Fixed brief, fixed rounds, fixed word count — no bloated first drafts, no surprise revisions.

  1. 01

    Discovery & voice audit

    Week 1

We start with your existing writing — site, blog, sales emails, founder podcast clips. Voice isn't invented, it's found. Then we agree the topic bank, audience, and what "done" looks like.

    • 90-min kickoff (in Brisbane or over video)
    • Voice audit — your existing writing, plus rivals'
    • Topic bank + editorial calendar for 90 days
    • Sample brief agreed before we start
  2. 02

    Research & interviews

    Days 1 – 3

Every piece starts with an interview — you, a customer, a subject-matter expert. 30–45 minutes, recorded, transcribed. That's where the specifics come from that make writing not sound like AI slop.

    • 30–45 min SME interview, recorded
    • Rival research + SERP scan (if it's SEO-brief)
    • Source list — quotes, stats, examples
    • Draft brief — thesis, structure, word count, CTA
  3. 03

    Outline & sign-off

    Days 3 – 4

Detailed outline before a single paragraph is drafted. Headings, sub-headings, the thesis of every section, the exact examples we'll use. This is where cheap disagreements happen — not on the final draft.

    • Outline with H1/H2/H3 + thesis per section
    • Callouts, quotes, examples pre-slotted
    • You sign off in Notion, no revisions to the outline
    • Meta title + description drafted at outline stage
  4. 04

    First draft

    Days 4 – 6

Long-form drafting. One human writer, one voice, one pass. No LLM-generated first draft, no template Frankenstein. Sent to you as a Google Doc, ready for real editing.

    • Human-drafted, single-pass long-form
    • Written to the outline, at the agreed length
    • Sources cited inline, quotes verified
    • Delivered in a shared Google Doc
  5. 05

    Edit & polish

    Days 6 – 8

A separate editor takes the pass — cuts filler, tightens verbs, kills weasel words, checks facts. Two rounds of client revisions built in. If we're still going after round two, we're doing it wrong.

    • Line edit by a separate editor
    • Fact check + citation verify
    • Readability pass (Hemingway grade 8–10)
    • Two rounds of client revisions included
  6. 06

    Publish & measure

    Day 8 – ongoing

We upload into your CMS (WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, Sanity), add hero art, set meta and OG tags, schedule, distribute. Then we watch — reading time, scroll depth, conversion attribution.

    • CMS upload — WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, Sanity
    • Hero art commissioned or briefed to illustrator
    • Meta, OG, schema markup all set
    • 90-day performance review per piece

$ questions

The stuff every client asks first.

If your question isn't below, we'll answer it on the discovery call. No sales pitch — just an honest read on whether we're the right shop.

Do you use AI to write?
Not for drafting. We use LLMs the way a journalist uses Google — for research, for finding a source, for turning transcripts into rough notes. First drafts are human-written. If a client explicitly asks for AI-assisted drafting, we'll do it and disclose it — but it's opt-in, never default.
Who owns the copyright?
You do — full transfer on invoice payment. No "we can reuse it in our portfolio" clauses. You can ghost-publish, syndicate, repurpose into video, sell it — anything. We just want to link to it as a case study if it does well.
Can you write in our voice?
Yes — that's what the voice audit is for. We read every piece of existing writing you have, listen to founder podcasts and sales calls, then draft a voice guide. Round one always needs a "no we don't say it like that" pass; round two rarely does.
How do you handle SEO briefs?
We brief for search intent, not keyword density. Every SEO piece gets: a primary intent phrase, 3–5 related queries, an outline built around the questions users actually type. No keyword-stuffing, no "3% density" nonsense — search rewards depth, not density, in 2026.
What's your minimum engagement?
One-off project: from $2k (a case study, a homepage rewrite, a video script). Retainer: 3-month minimum from $2k/mo, then month-to-month with 30 days' notice. We don't do "one blog post a month" — the setup cost doesn't justify it.
What if the draft isn't right?
Two rounds of revisions built in. Round one is usually structural — "reorder this, cut this section, add a customer quote". Round two is line-level. Anything beyond round two we quote separately, but honestly — it happens on fewer than one in twenty pieces.
Do you work outside Brisbane?
Yes — every engagement runs remote-first from our Brisbane studio, with interviews and workshops available across Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Auckland and Wellington. Most SME interviews are over Zoom or Riverside.
